History
In July of 1943, C.G. Winkel, Sr. began selling used cars on the corner of Center and Ryland Streets in downtown Reno, Nevada. In 1946, Winkel acquired the Pontiac franchise and began selling new cars. The GMC Truck franchise was added to the dealership in 1958 and, in 1965, WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC moved to its current location on Kietzke Lane. WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC expanded again in 2001 when it acquired the Hummer franchise.
Today WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC-HUMMER operates facilities in Reno, Sparks and Yerington, Nevada and employs in excess of 150 people on a full-time basis. Combined sales of the dealerships has grown to exceed 100 million dollars annually. In the Reno area alone, WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC-HUMMER has sold more than 70,000 cars and trucks and continues to offer exceptional service to each of its valued customers. WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC-HUMMER is very proud of its heritage and its longstanding and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
